A range of power supplies featuring low inrush current, particularly suitable for use for lighting applications. When a power supply is first switched on, a large current flows from the mains input into the power supply to charge the capacitors. This flow of current immediately after start up is known as inrush current. All power supplies draw this inrush current on start up which can be a problem as where this inrush current is particularly high, as is often the case with standard switch mode power supplies, it can cause MCBs and breakers to trip. A suitable MCB or breaker should be selected. In addition a power supply with a low inrush current can be selected as per the ranges in this section. For inrush current information please refer to the data sheet provided for each model
