The P78xx-20 series of high efficiency switching regulators are designed to provide a more flexible solution to linear regulators. This series features a footprint that allows them to be placed directly into the footprint of the common TO-220 LM78xx linear regulator series. The high efficiency designs means that these regulators do not require a heatsink. These regulators also offer a large degree of flexibility and in addition to providing a positive output as standard they can also be configured to provide a negative output.
